LULAC : LULAC Hosts Events to Commemorate the Historic Election of Barak Obama
Enviado por admin on 17/1/2009 5:10:00 (226 Lecturas)

Dear LULAC Members and Friends:

On Tuesday, January 20, 2009, the Honorable Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. As the nation’s largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization, I invite you to help us celebrate this historic occasion as the color barrier to the nation’s highest elected office is shattered for the first time in our country’s history.

During this momentous occasion, the League of United Latin American Citizens will host four events during the week to commemorate the Presidential Inauguration, celebrate the power of the Latino vote, and underscore the important policy priorities of our organization.

We have set up a new web site www.latinoinaugural.org to inform our members about the events and activities taking place this coming week. I would especially like to encourage you to consider participating in a community service project this weekend to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day and help strengthen our organization’s commitment to community service and advocacy.

Sincerely

RosaSignature
