In a historic partnership, LULAC Ohio and America Votes are pleased to announce their partnership in the state of Ohio. Through LULAC chapters across the state, local Hispanic/Latino organizations, and the valuable resources of America Votes, LULAC hopes to increase voter registration among the growing Hispanic/Latino population in Ohio. Moreover, this partnership will ensure that the values of civil rights, education, and economic advancement for all minority groups are heard among our elected officials. “After four years of growth, LULAC is poised in the state of Ohio to carry out a major voter registration drive through its councils/partners in Cincinnati, Xavier University, Northern Kentucky University, Butler County, Dayton, Columbus, and Cleveland,” says LULAC Ohio Deputy Director, Jason Riveiro. Rosa Caskey, LULAC Ohio State Director points out, “In 2004 the presidential election was decided by only a few thousand votes in Ohio. In 2008, the 300,000+ potential Hispanic voters in Ohio could help determine not only the outcome of local races but of our national presidential election.” To learn about local efforts in your area or to volunteer, please contact the following representatives in your area: Cincinnati Jason Riveiro 513-482-1814
