The 81st LULAC National Convention is at the Door!

We are now just a month away from the 81st LULAC National Convention in Albuquerque, NM and this convention is shaping up to be one of best and biggest national conventions ever. We have confirmed some fantastic speakers and entertainment including US Treasurer Rosie Rios, NAACP President Ben Jealous, Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez, Director of the Office of Personnel Management John Berry, the original Latin King of Comedy Paul Rodriguez, Ret. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez; Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity John Trasviña; Congressmen Ben Lujan, Joe Baca and Luis Gutierrez; Producer and Writer Chris Arbego; USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs Ed Avalos; National Urban League President Marc Morial; AFT President Randi Weingarten; Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Thelma Melendez de Santa Ana; EPA Assistant Administrator for Water Peter Silva; the Legend of New Mexico Al Hurricane and Mayor Richard J. Berry o f Albuquerque.
In addition, we look forward to confirming First Lady Michelle Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, Secretary of the Interior Kenneth Salazar, Representatives Ruben Hinojosa, FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, New Mexico Lt. Governor Diane Denish, former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros, Astronaut Jose Hernandez and actress Zoe Saldaña. We also have a great line up of workshops and seminars that will inform you of the latest issues impacting the Latino community.
Our exhibit area will include hundreds of corporate exhibits, a federal plaza, a career fair, a health fair, a mercado with New Mexican artisans, and a nearby cyber café. We are also including a ticket to the LULAC Concierto VOCES UNIDAS por America! featuring the famous Daddy Yankee, Cristian Castro and Pee Wee among many other artist on the evening of Saturday, July 17th with every full registration package. And don’t forget to dress up for the Friday night black tie Presidential Awards Banquet.
Please note that most convention hotels are already oversold, but we just opened a new block at the fabulous Hotel Albuquerque in old town and transportation from the hotel to the convention center will be provided.
